The Google + Pinterest trick no one has shown you...

💡 Blogging Tip of the Week 💡

Google + Pinterest = 💰

Most bloggers treat Google and Pinterest as separate strategies, but combining them can double or even triple your blog traffic.

This strategy is a twist on the hidden keyword method I developed a few years ago, but this time, we’re using Pinterest’s rankings on Google to your advantage.

Here’s why this strategy works:

Pinterest often ranks on the first page of Google for specific keywords. By identifying those keywords and creating blog posts that target them, you can leverage both Pinterest’s authority and Google’s reach to dramatically increase your blog traffic.

Here’s how to do it step by step:

STEP #1: Use a Keyword Research Tool

For this strategy, you’ll need a tool that shows keyword rankings and has advanced filtering options:

  • My go-to tool: Ahrefs. It’s robust and offers everything you need for this strategy.
  • Budget-friendly alternative: Keysearch. It’s less expensive and still has the filtering capabilities you need.

Both tools will help you find keywords where Pinterest is already ranking on Google’s first page.

STEP #2: Find Pinterest’s Google Rankings

Use your keyword tool to filter for keywords where Pinterest ranks on the first page of Google.

For example, in the screenshot above, I’ve filtered by the “Position” column to only show keywords ranking in the top 10, which typically corresponds to the first page of Google search results.

STEP #3: Narrow It Down to Your Niche

Next, use the keyword tool’s filtering feature to enter topics related to your niche.

Example:

If your blog is about California travel, you’d enter “California” to find keywords that fit your niche.

STEP #4: Create Blog Content Around Those Keywords

The final step is to create blog posts around the keywords you’ve found.

So basically:

  1. Your blog post ranks on Pinterest.
  2. Pinterest ranks on Google.
  3. You benefit from (a lot of) indirect Google traffic thanks to Pinterest’s high authority.

Here’s how to make it work:

👉 Focus on Pinterest SEO

Your goal is to ensure your pins gain traction on Pinterest. Here’s how:

  • Create eye-catching pins: Use bold, attractive designs that grab attention in a crowded feed.
  • Optimize for keywords: Add your target keyword to the pin’s title, description, and board.
  • Pin consistently for maximum visibility

👉 Make Your Blog Content Clickworthy

Once someone clicks through to your blog, your content needs to deliver value and keep readers engaged.

  • Provide valuable, actionable information: Make sure your post addresses the search intent behind the keyword.
  • Use Pinterest-friendly formatting: Break up text with headings, bullet points, and images.
  • Include high-quality visuals: Pinterest is a visual platform, so using appealing images in your blog post increases its shareability.

REAL LIFE EXAMPLE

Let’s say your niche is California travel.

You’d filter for Pinterest keywords ranking on Google’s first page and find a phrase like "day trips in Southern California."

Pinterest ranks on Google's first page of results for this keyword (see screenshot below).

Next, create a blog post targeting that phrase and optimizing it for Pinterest SEO, so that when someone clicks on the Pinterest result on Google, YOUR content will show up first.

This strategy is a simple yet powerful way to combine the strengths of both platforms to drive more traffic to your blog.

This is something I don't see anyone talking about, so give it a try and let me know how it goes!

You’re working hard, trying to grow, but the results just don’t seem to match the effort or what other bloggers are achieving?

What if 2025 could be different?

Imagine this instead:

  • Feeling completely in control of your traffic by diversifying with Pinterest, Facebook, YouTube, and email marketing.
  • Building a blog that isn’t dependent on a single platform, because relying on just one is exhausting and risky.

Hey! I was on Threads (Meta's version of Twitter) recently and saw a gal share a screenshot of her blog earnings. She banked a solid $20,580 in one month. And that was only her income from display ads on her blog. That doesn't include her affiliate income. SO many people were shocked by this. And for good reason! Most people don’t realize how lucrative blogging can be. Some even think it’s a scam (which is fine by me; less competition for us, right? 😂). But you’re here reading this newsletter...
